There are cynics who suggest that Jan employs his wife to keep costs down since he can pay family a lower wage. There may be a very small iota of truth in that, but realists suggest that without Belinda's flair, intuition, acumen, patience and understanding of the human side of things, the whole show could run out of wind, which in a sail business could be a bit difficult. On many crucial issues, she is the lady to talk to, which is to say, talk to the boss.
Tyran runs the racing sails loft and has been working in the sail making industry since 2000 and has a background in one design sails. He now heads the racing sails loft. He is also an acomplished sailor having placed 5th in the Hobie 16 Worlds and having won various National Championships in boats ranging from Mirror dinghies through to Miuras and L-34s.
Sales and Admin
Tony should have been christened Gung Ho. There is few things that this man will not attempt, well at least once he has had a careful look at it, and rationally assessed the options. He is a champion windsurfer, in which sport he represented South Africa in 1981/82 in Sardinia. (It is also the sport which has had the greatest impact on sail design in the last two decades!).
Cape Town Sales Consultant
With over 40 years experience in virtually every aspect of the boating and yachting industry, Craig Middleton is undoubtedly one of South Africa's most respected yachtsmen and a long standing member of the Team.
Having done a seven year circumnavigation of the globe aboard his self-built 40 foot yacht, Craig is a testament to not only his love for all things related to the sail, but to his unique knowledge of such travelling experiences that have sharpened our team's ability to test and know extremes.

Warren can't remember when he started sailing - reliable maternal sources say it was well before he could walk! Before joining the Team, Warren was heavily involved in the marine industry, building harbour ferries and charter yachts and later sailed and cruised extensively in the Mediterranean and South America.
For nearly a decade Warren has used his experience to guide both cruising and racing sailors in selecting a sail inventory that works form them.
Durban Sales consultant.
Dallen returned from Europe in June 2011, where he was running top Race boats like the Farr 40 “Charisma” and the Ker 46 “Tonnerre”, to join Ullman Sail’s Durban loft.
Dallen has a strong background in sail training and finished his time at one of South Africa’s sailing schools, as their chief instructor. With many miles of racing, sail training and deliveries under his belt, Dallen’s experience has given him a thorough understanding of the needs of both cruising and racing boats and will provide Ullman Sails clients with excellent advice.

Percy has over 20 years of experience in the sailmaking industry.. In 2001, he joined our team as our Production Loft Supervisor to further his career and move onto the bigger challenges that sail manufacturing has been able to offer.
Percy has a long history of sail-making in South Africa and has brought with him both experience and ingenuity that the entire team has come to depend on.
Craig comes to Ullman straight from a highly successful round-the-world Clipper Race in which, with a crew of people fresh to sailing he skippered Durban Clipper into a very close second place, after leading for much of the race. Craig's background includes an invaluable record with Paul Green Masts, Aluweld, the aluminium welding specialists and financial management consulting.
His broad expertise is a natural blend with Ullman Sail's aim to offer a total advice and service package to both cruising and racing sailors, providing a very integrated advice service far beyond normal. His competitive sailing history also includes a highly succesful career in Hunters, J22s and Solings, as well as various dinghy classes, in which he has won numerous awards, both in South Africa and internationally
